Campus Stores Celebrate 5th Annual National Student Day October 8
Sponsored by the National Association of College Stores (NACS), college and high school campus stores will celebrate the 5th annual National Student Day on Thursday, October 8, according to a recent press release. National Student Day takes place the second Thursday in October, focusing on recognizing and celebrating students for their hard work in and outside the classroom.
An all-new photo sharing contest accompanies this year’s celebration, giving students the opportunity to win a $500 prize to their campus store and to support a good cause. High school and college students can enter the contest up to five times per person. To enter, simply snap a selfie in your campus store and post it to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using hashtag #GIVEME5NSD.
NACS will donate $1 for every entry received up to $5,000 to children’s literacy advocate Reading is Fundamental, which delivers free books and literacy resources to children and families in economically disadvantaged communities in the United States. The contest is open now through October 22 at 5:00 p.m., EST.
Stores plan to hold special events ranging from flash sales and free food to contests, games and live music. Celebrations vary by campus.
